Dubai summers are brutal on air conditioning systems. When temperatures push past 45°C, your AC works overtime — and small issues turn into expensive breakdowns fast. A little routine care goes a long way toward keeping you cool and your bills reasonable.
1. Clean or replace filters monthly
Clogged filters are the number one cause of weak cooling and high energy bills. In Dubai's dusty climate, check them every 3–4 weeks during summer and clean or replace as needed.
2. Keep the outdoor unit clear
Dust, sand and debris around the condenser force your system to work harder. Keep at least half a metre of clear space and gently rinse the fins when they look dirty.
3. Watch for warning signs
- Warm air from the vents
- Unusual noises or rattling
- Water pooling near the indoor unit
- A sudden jump in your DEWA bill
4. Book a professional service before peak season
A pre-summer service — gas check, coil clean and electrical inspection — catches problems before the heat arrives. It's far cheaper than an emergency call-out in July. FlapHome offers same-day AC servicing across Dubai, seven days a week.
